Three products I designed and built, with my contribution, results and release status. Each case study explains the technical decisions and evidence.

Bupples

February 2026 – Present

Shared expenses, scanned receipts and clear settle-up plans for friends.

Live on iOS and Android. Designed and built the app, receipt scanning, settlement flows and Firebase backend. Version 1.4.6 is live on Android and awaiting iOS review.
Verified release. The build 184 verification record reports 6,048 Flutter tests passed and 91 native fixture checks per platform.
Product activity. 73 hangouts and 85 expense records as of 6 September 2026, including test and owner activity. GA4 reports 48 weekly active users for 30 August–5 September; internal traffic was not verified as excluded.

June 2026 – Present

Widget-first motivation for iOS and Android, read from the Home Screen.

Native widgets. Built the Flutter app, SwiftUI/WidgetKit views and Kotlin widget renderer; seven iOS widget families share one set of views.
Offline content. Created a deterministic content pipeline and a local library of 12,828 unique entries across 20 categories.
Current stage. App not publicly released. The landing page is live; the verified iOS build is current to July 2026, while Android still needs a fresh release build.

A photobooth for desktop and browser that never sends a camera frame anywhere.

Live web app. Built a browser photobooth and its Electron desktop runtime. The web app is live; the desktop app is available from source.
On-device effects. Implemented 17 shader effects and eight face effects using WebGL2 and MediaPipe, with no backend processing.
Complete ownership. Designed the graphics pipeline, security model, capture/export workflow and deployment.

Clarify the user, constraints, acceptance criteria and first milestone before implementation starts.

Keep decisions visible

Break work into reviewable changes, document the trade-offs and communicate what needs a decision.

Test the edges

Check the happy path, failure states, security boundaries and platform behaviour before calling a feature done.

Inference that runs on the device MediaPipe face effects executing locally in Photoshoot, so a camera frame never has to be uploaded to become useful.
Model output as structured data, not prose Gemini receipt extraction in Bupples: the model reads a photographed receipt into line items, and the ledger still does the money.
Widgets as the product surface Home Screen, Lock Screen and StandBy as places a product lives rather than shortcuts into it — which means two native implementations instead of one shared screen.
